A fire broke out aboard a moored passenger and cargo ferry at the Port of Naples in Italy, authorities said.

The incident occurred on the ferry GNV Phoenix, which was undergoing maintenance work at a shipyard near the city.

The fire started on an upper deck in the evening.

All 85 people on board evacuated safely, and no injuries were reported.

Firefighters responded to the scene with support from a fire boat and tugboats, while the national fire service carried out operations from shore.

The blaze was brought under control after several hours of fire fighting.

Part of the port remained temporarily restricted during the response.
